Paula Lunnon
Director of Strategy & Chairperson (Msc Community Regeneration, CMI level 7 Strategic Management)
Paula started volunteering at KPC just over 18yrs ago, initially supporting as a youth work volunteer while studying welfare; and since 2004 as a trustee and board member. With a background in the private sector in sales and buying, Paula began her work in the third sector in 1998 as the first development officer for the Retired & Senior Volunteer project (CSV) Bridgend. The project was a great success with over 100 older volunteers across Bridgend active in community initiatives.
This followed with a position at Bridgend Council on the Welsh Government’s first anti-poverty programme ‘Communities First’. During which time Paula worked on a range of projects that supported economic, social and environmental partnerships. The programme was built on community development, engagement and participation to support communities that had been disadvantaged. More recently, Paula has worked in social housing in Merthyr as Community Development team leader and for the past few years has used her experience working for in construction on community benefits, social value, corporate social responsibility and community investment.
Paul Williams
Secretary/Ysgrifennydd
Paul is a retired businessperson and has 15 years with a High Street business as a Photographer, 25 years with British Telecom. He is now a landlord of two properties and is also a Committee member of Swansea Ramblers, Treasurer of a local Church and Secretary of KPC Youth. He represents KPC at the Community Fun Day meetings and helps organise KPC’s activities on the day. Paul met our founder member Helena some time after the tragic death of her son. After listening to her request for committee members, he realised there was a need in the area for a project like this. Paul is leen to contribute by helping the unemployed and give a safe place for the youth to go where they can get help and advice. Above all, he wishes to give something back to the community that has sustained his businesses over the years.
Glyn Wallen
Director of HR/Cyfarwyddwr AD
A former director of the College of Podiatry and a former director of the South Wales Football Association. A Fellow of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and a Fellow of the College of Podiatric Medicine, a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow Clinical Educator. An experienced senior manager in the Public,Private and Independent sectors of over 40 years experience, holding medical and legal degrees brings his knowledge in Human Resources, Strategic Planning, Marketing, Financial mapping, Health and Safety and Compliance to the Board. He has a special interest in Health and Wellbeing and environmental sustainability having been a Clean Seas ambassador at last year’s Volvo Ocean Race stop over in Cardiff. Heavily involved with football as a senior referee assessor for the South Wales Football Association, and Executive member of the Referees Association of Wales.
