KPC Youth & Community was formed in 1998 in response to the lack of facilities for young people in the Bridgend area. The founder, Helena Parobij's son, died aged 18 of a drugs related incident, she and other community members didn't want that to happen to other young people in this area.
Since 1998 we have grown enormously. We offer a wide range of diversionary activities, advice, information and support to young people to meet their needs. In addition we help young people with job searches, motivation, building their esteem and life opportunities. We also run accredited courses eg: Agored Cymru in a range of topics.
We have over 350 young people on our books and open nightly Mon, Wed, Fri 5.30 - 9.30pm, Tues and Thurs 6 - 10pm. Our daytime provision works with the local Pupil Referral Unit years 10 & 11 pupils, who are based at KPC Youth & Community during term time.
We also work with all ages in the community who are not in education, training or employment, to help give them betteremployment skills.
Our project has a wide range of activities for young people including an outdoor skate park, bmx track and multi sports court. Inside we offer internet access, pool, arts/crafts and much more.
We are an open access project and welcome all young people to use our facility.
